The bark is thin and scaly, flaking off in small circular plates 5-20 cm across. The crown is broad conic in young trees, becoming cylindric in older trees; old trees may have no branches in the lowest 30-40 m. The shoots are very pale buff-brown, almost white, and glabrous (hairless) but with prominent pulvini
These are fully hardy field Grown conifers.
Once these Broadleaves have made root in the soil you can expect them to grow an average of 2ft per year.
We would advise planting these every 2ft (60cms) to give you a good hedge.
We advise using a support cane & ties for the first 12 months until the conifers have made root in the soil.
We would advise to give the best possible start to use Merediths Plant food, which is a slow release food, and RHS Rootgrow™ Gel to help the conifers make better root in the soil.
These conifers are supplied bare root in bags, and will need to be signed for.
