Product Information
These are our Beech - Fagus Sylvatica - 60-90cms
The leaves of beech trees are entire or sparsely toothed, from 5–15 cm long and 4–10 cm broad. The flowers are small single-sex (monoecious),
the female flowers borne in pairs, the male flowers wind-pollinated catkins, produced in spring shortly after the new leaves appear
These are fully hardy field Grown Broadleaves.
Once these Broadleaves have made root in the soil you can expect them to grow an average of 2ft per year.
We would advise planting these every 2ft (60cms) to give you a good hedge.
We advise using a support cane & ties for the first 12 months until the conifers have made root in the soil.
We would advise to give the best possible start to use Merediths Plant food, which is a slow release food, and RHS Rootgrow™ Gel to help the broadleaves make better root in the soil.
These broadleaves are supplied bare root in bags, and will need to be signed for.
